When You Get Here...

Your Concerns
You've registered for our Professional Faux class and the time is drawing near. You are a little nervous and wonder if other students in the class are more talented than you. You are excited to have finally made it to class but a little voice in your head says, “What if I can’t do this? What if others are better than me?”
Relax and Enjoy
How could we possibly know exactly what you are thinking? Because so many of our students arrive with the same concerns. However, our teaching method and non-stressful atmosphere will soon have you relaxed and enjoying yourself. Often, we hear that the week started with apprehension and evolved into exhilaration as it progressed. Novices express great relief that the class pace didn't leave them behind. Professionals rave about all the tips, hints and troubleshooting advice that promise to keep them ahead of their competition. Everyone agrees that the Professional Faux class exceeds their expectations.
In The Morning
We serve a Continental breakfast along with hot, fresh coffee or, if coffee is not your morning beverage of choice, there is a fully stocked refrigerator with many choices of soft drinks and water. If hot tea or hot chocolate are more appealing to you, you will find that too. We start class at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
Casual Dress
Dress is casual. Jeans and t-shirts are fine. Your most paint-y outfits are fine. If you don’t have paint clothes, just wear your day-to-day casual clothes that you don't mind being splattered with paint..
All Supplies are Provided
You don’t need to bring anything. Everything you could possibly need is provided. This not only insures that you don’t forget anything, but reduces your pre-class stress level as well. If you have a favorite trowel or badger brush please bring them with you.
Instruction Manual
We will provide you with a manual on the first day of class. It will contains notes for the finishes you will produce, notes for the business class, general notes, and a Glossary of Terms. Even if you are a complete novice, a few minutes of study in your hotel room on Monday night will have you talking like a pro! This manual will become a life long resource.
We suggest that you take notes in pencil since you will undoubtedly rethink exactly how you want to word a certain point. We provide pencils and the pencil sharpener is within easy reach.
Lunch
Lunch is provided by the Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes. Each day we select a different restaurant and order carry out. Copies of the menus are given out each day so that you are not rushed into your decision.
Grocery and Other Stores
There is a great grocery store, as well as a very nice drug store, about an mile from the studio where you can stock your hotel refrigerator, get film, have photos developed or pick up any personal items.
Our hospitality is unmatched! Your visit to our studio will be pleasant and hassle-free.
